Dr Hassan Malik is a General Surgeon with a special interest in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and Bariatric Surgery and practices out of Benowa and brisbane.

To further advance his expertise, Dr Malik completed a one-year fellowship in HPB and Bariatric surgery at the Gold Coast University Hospital. During this time, he gained valuable experience in performing major HPB resections, benign Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) surgeries, bariatric procedures, endocrine operations, and both elective and emergency general surgical procedures. Dr Malik was also actively involved in the management of complex HPB and Bariatric cases, dealing with a diverse range of pathologies from benign to malignant.

A fellowship year in HPB surgery at The Northern Hospital in Melbourne, allowed Dr Malik to work on a range of cases, including liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and spleen surgeries, spanning various benign and malignant conditions. Before his fellowship training, Dr Malik served as an unaccredited surgical registrar in General Surgery in rural Queensland. This experience provided him with valuable exposure to a wide range of surgical cases.

Throughout his career, Dr Malik has actively engaged in research and has contributed to several publications. He has also presented his research findings at conferences, showcasing his commitment to advancing surgical knowledge and techniques.

In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr Malik has been actively involved in medical education. He has taught medical students and has trained junior doctors at the University of Queensland (UQ) and Bond University. For five years, Dr Malik held the academic title of associate lecturer at UQ, where he mentored and educated future generations of medical professionals.
