Constipation, soiling, and anal pain are prevalent issues in children, often with underestimated consequences. These problems can affect a child’s socialisation, school participation, overall development, and potentially persist into adulthood.

While sometimes there may be a surgical cause for these symptoms, in most cases, there are multiple factors that need to be addressed.

We assess children with severe and persistent constipation to determine if there is an underlying physical cause. I offer various interventions, including Botox injection to the anal sphincter and the MACE procedure in select cases.
